These hubcaps came with an old house we bought.

These look brand new. My husband thinks they were probably re-chromed but they could be reproductions.
I think they are probably for a 1949 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 imperial because we have the shell of this old caddy and lots of other parts .

I found that some people call them sombrero hub caps. There are four of them and they are beautiful.

My Questions:
1. How do I find out how much they are worth? What makes some worth more than others? I have seen sets on eBay for $500.00 -$2900.00 and none of them are as shiny as our four.
2. How do I know if they are reproductions? My husband thinks they are too heavy to be reproductions.

Thanks

Sure would look nice on the 48 I am restoring.

If the guy had a 1949 limo at your home, he probably bought these to put on it. They are likely reproductions, even that heavy. They are probably 16" ones for only the limos from 1947-49. Worth something of course, but not the Holy Grail. If they are perfect with no rust or pitting, I would think they might bring about $300 or so. Nice thing to find. Now if you can only find where he buried the silver...Good luck.

I looked at your "Fleetwood 75" and saw that it was a 60S instead, which would have had 15" wheels.

I suppose my husband will know how to determine if they are 15" or 16".  I have now been told this car was a 60 s o r  60s special

I will get back with you on the size.
thanks

Flip the cap over and post a picture of how many drains holes are in the bell housing that snaps of the wheel clips, as 47 had one-48-49 had 2 to narrow down what they fit for starters.

Your center emblems look oem to me..what you think Barry ?
