Just bought a 59 Horn ring reproduction for $600 Australian (about $540US) is that a good price? I heard the going rate is upto $1000?

That's very reasonable. I have been shopping them around and have seen prices US$ 450-1100. If you got a quality item you should be very pleased.

When people see it on your car, you will get than many questions on where you got it, and what it cost, you might consider making up a sign, and then get a commission on the sales you generate for the maker.  ;)
