I have seen several 70s where those are wrong.  I even owned a Superior Crown Royale hearse where 1 was upside down and 1 was was correct.

Sure looks better that way!!   ;D

Given the nice paint and brightwork, I would figure that happened in a later paint job, but it wouldn't at all surprise me if they were copying the orientation they documented as it came from the factory.  At least they're oriented the same, and are the same emblem!
