A recent thread someone was asking about how the fit was of the universal fit aftermarket antennas were in a 70's Cadillac.   For once I had the hood open on my 73 and remembered so I took a couple pics.   The antennas seem to all be about the same and have looked the same for 15 or more years now.   I don't remember details about mine other than I just saw it on the shelf at a parts store and it was about $50.  Quick look now and that still seems to be about the price.    Most of the antenna is supported where it goes through the body, the bottom brace does not need to be that strong.  I can't remember if that strap stuff came with the antenna or if it was just something I had laying around.  I believe the hole in the fender was where the original mounted.  As you can see its a lot smaller than the original.  A had already removed the air ride compressor when I installed it so I don't know if it would be in the way or not.
