It is a 59.     The rear fins were either lowered later on, or perhaps it was a special ordered car?

Jeff Wilk

Did you see a VIN?  I just drove past that town Fri on vacation too.... Almost look like brougham fins.

I think someone up there should get a peek at the cars body plate to see if it was a special order.

I could have sworn somewhere reading a certain brougham body style in 1959 got the prototype version of the 1960 fins. Could have sworn that it was a limo. I like the 59 and 60 years but I'm not well versed some one will know. Might try the professional car society website also. There is a vast amount of knowledge on limos there. Along with hearses, ambulances, and strictly coach built funeral limos not done by Cadillac.

Google is mistaken (!!!).  Those are all 1960.

I screwed up. Didn't look close enough at the front end.
But what about this picture.

bottom one has lower fins.
I will delete my other posting.

If that car has had the fins modified, someone did a nice job on them, pictures look good as far as body lines lining up.Is it possible to swap the front end from a 59 to a 61?,maybe that is what happened. The limo broughm in the pictures looks to be a hardtop version, this is a post sedan?.Again i have no idea what i am talking about, just what i can see. I considered that but it has a 59 rear bumper

Fin modifications on a regular '59 limo.  Brougham's had a different A-Pillar that did not have the knee knocker design that the other cars had.

The bodies were made at Pininfarina.  Quote from wiki "Pininfarina S.p.A. (short for Carozzeria Pininfarina) is an independent Italian car design firm and coachbuilder in Cambiano, Italy."  99 cars were made for '59 and 101 for '60.

My friend Dwight in Canada wrote this about the car in question:

"I think I may be able to shed some light on this cars' origins. Back in the day, the richest man in Canada Bud McDougald of Argus Corporation and Hollinger mines ordered a new '59 Cadillac. When they delivered it to his estate, he took one look at it and said "those fins are grotesque...I want them removed". So back to the dealer it went. I would assume they decided to modify it by changing it to the more modest Eldorado fins...money was no object so replacement fins were probably air freighted directly from Italy. I might be wrong about this car but it sure does seem to fit the story."

I sent the seller a message asking for info on the cars origins.  They never wrote back.

I've tried to contact them too with no response.

A few days ago I came across some pictures of a '59 wagon and remembered this limo. The conversions are curiously similar!
