Do any of you know of a company that knows about the parking brake cables for our old cars?

Can they make them by make and model or by an emailed drawing?

Can they make them and ship them in a reasonable time?

  Quality???

Someone must have had this problem before?

What year Cad is it for?  Couldn't you get the whole assembly, sheath and all, in good shape 2nd hand?  From a parts car, for example.

Hi Gary: Try George Martin in Lebanon PA. 717-273-9502  He had a spot at Hershey some years back and would make brake cables for most any car. He made cables for my 47 and I have referred him too several who also had cables made for their cars. I hope he still is in business.    Bill

If you still have good outers, then any cable supplier, rigger or boat parts supplier should be able to make up the inner cable, even using Stainless Steel wire.

I second he reco on George Martin. One nice feature he did on mine was to add grease zerks on the sheath so cables could properly lubed. He was still in business a few months ago.

Thanks for the replies everyone.  I called Inline Tube but they did not have enough information on my 1940 LaSalle 5029  so then I called George Martin and he knew exactly what I needed and has them in stock, but no longer accepts credit cards.

Since the car is in  a friends shop and space is important to him I immediately wrote George Martin a check and took it to the post office for a quick delivery.

I did not want to find used ones because no way of looking through the outers and determining the condition of the cables.

These responses from everyone are one of the reasons I like this venue.

Thank You everyone for your responses.
