I’m puzzled by new symptoms on my ’66 Eldorado. Restoration is not quite finished and I’ve noticed that the steering effort turning left is harder than turning right. I changed the steering box early on and the steering effort was uniform. Last week the high pressure hose began to leak (new hose) which I subsequently changed. I raised the front end, filled the system and turned the steering wheel back and forth several time to purge the air and filled it to the appropriate level.  Moving the car to the upholstery shop I noticed that left turns seemed to require more effort. There are no sounds indicating trapped air.  Any suggestions to how test whether there is a problem or where to look?

Thanks,
Ralph

Have you checked the tyre pressures, or wheel alignment?

Try and find a slight uphill parking area, leave the p/s cap off overnite. Sounds like air could be still in the system, or something is binding in the steering.
