Parts suppliers for G M scissor top parts list the top latches.
The latches on my '74 top seem very substantial.
Do they break due to latches being set too tight?
What parts on them break?

The Tassie Devil(le)

They usually break when someone doesn't lower the roof the correct way.

When lowering the roof, leave the catches as they are after disconnecting the header bow.   Don't close them up before lowering the roof.

If they are adjusted way too tight, then they MIGHT break, but the operator should have the sense to stop putting such force to make the lever break.

I have reconditioned the picoting pins with ones that have become loose.
