GUIDE HEADLIGHT 1978 Cadillac

Headlights in my car say GUIDE 1A and 2A.
Bought a NOS headlight , complete with bucket ,and trim ring.

This light says 1A1 on it. I know it is a high beam , but wondering why it says 1A1 on it.
 Any thoughts ?
