Could someone please post a pix of the carb linkage and return spring.
I'm missing some parts and don't have a clue as to how the spring
is mounted on the engine.
thanks

My carbs a carter but the photos help alot.
Where does your return spring anchor?
Is there a bracket on the manifold?
Mine was just tie wired to the water pump.
I don't think thats GM correct , Im missing something.
Thanks

The driver's side rear bolt on the thermostat housing is supposed to have a square tab under it, bent up slightly, it has a small hole drilled in it for the carb return spring to attach to.  Don't know why but these things are missing on many of the engines of that vintage that I have seen and the return spring is (incorrectly) attached in all different manners.  Maybe that tab gets lost when the thermostat is changed.  Some one here MUST have a picture of one.

Best I could find on a quick search of internet images, not perfect but you get the idea.  Spring hooked up to the correct spot but the spring itself looks incorrect ----

There ya go!  I forgot about the old style oil filter on the '59s, and I had a '60.  Similar though.
