As I mentioned on the Forum just a few days ago, I sold Lew some of his first "samples" of Cadillac Dealer books to obtain the leather samples to offer exact copies of the material. This was his dream and that's how he, I am told, ran his business. He offered what has become known as the very, very best in leather work for cars of the 1940s, on up to the 1970s. It is because of men like Lew that we have reached the current benchmarks in authenticity and quality of restorations available today.

Sad. I knew Lewis since the mid eighties. He was a true gentleman and an invaluable asset to the hobby. R.I.P.

Lewis Jenkins passed away at age 87 on October 31 at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was a longtime member of the Carolina Region CLC and others. His interior work on Cadillacs has long been regarded as some of the best. His love of Cadillacs and Buicks was evident from the extensive personal collection that he loved to show. A wonderful showman and great perserver of interesting histories of his cars, he will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be on Sunday, November 3 at the Reins-Sturdivant Chapel in Wikesboro, NC. Obituary available in the Winston-Salem, NC Journal (11/2)
