Hello everyone. I am going to be flushing/changing the coolant in my 59 Cadillac series 62 soon with addition of the upper and Lower radiator hoses. I will be looking at the thermostat while I'm there. Just incase I have to replace it what tempature does it open at. The replacement thermostats I've seen all open at diffrent tempatures.

Thanks

The temperature of the unit will be stamped on the flange.

It all depends on where you are, and what the ambient temperature is for where you are driving.

Most are either 165 F and 185 F.
