Does anyone know the cross reference for a sealed beam headlight for a 1940.
The ones that were in are EVEREADY MAZDA 4030 .
Are they the right ones??????

Ken, if you want "the right ones," AC Delco lamps would be the way to go. 7" is the size, six volts. Given that they are a little harder to find these days, getting a match might not be as important unless you are having the car judged.

Another thing is the face of the bulbs?,do the correct ones have the little bumps for the aligners?,or should they be smooth with no bumps on them, just something to think about. Harvey

I think the aiming point nubs are a 1950s addition. Earlier cars had smooth faced lenses.

Ken: Barry is correct. The early sealed beam did not have aiming points. I think the early seal beam lamp came out in 39 and had a steel back. My early Guide catalog carries a number for the left headlamp of 672 G and 672H for right for the 1940. Steel backed early headlamps are very difficult to find, occasionally on ebay. More often on ebay are the 7 inch all glass lamps without the aiming bumps and those are also getting difficult to find.   Bill
