What is the best way to get to the sending unit on a '39 LaSalle coupe to replace it?  Also, where can I get a new sending unit?   Thanks.

Steve Passmore

As with all these cars you usually have to drop the gas tank to get at this unit.

Hi John: Once you remove the sending unit from the tank I would get it rebuilt. I always like to stay with original parts so I rebuild a part if at all possible. I have had good results from John Wolf & Co in Willoughby Ohio ( web site below) in having them rebuild my 41 and 47 sending units.   Bill
