Does anyone know of a working Ranco valve for sale. This is for a 49/62.
The heater unit is a "Harrison UDF-30-49"
I  managed to break the thermostat capillary tube while removing the heat/defrost box from the firewall. :'(  I would also consider one that needs overhauling as long as the "Gas Bellows Thermostat" mechanism is intact and in working order

They are probably different, but Hudson used Ranco heater valves for the stepdown cars.  Do you have a picture?  We used to have someone in the club rebuilding these.  Just trying to come up with an option for you.

Thanks Tim,
I've been attempting to chase down that avenue. There are a lot of pictures on line that look very similar. I haven't disassemble the heater box yet so I can't get a full look or shot of the valve. I'll make that a project for tomorrow and post it ASAP. Ranco is still in business [over 100 years apparently] I was going to try and contact them to see if there was a similar/same gas bellows thermostat still available from them so I could replace the part that is damaged.

Thanks Mike,
I saw this link in a previous post on the same topic. I did contact this fellow and he said he could not recharge the gas in the gas bellows thermostat. He did say he could use a different type of thermostat, but conceded that they didn't work that well. He suggested finding a valve with a working thermostat and having it serviced if needed. So here I am......LOL!

I bought a new one for my '49 over twenty years ago, from a person in
Superior, WI  whose sole business was repairing and replacing these valves.
I cannot find the receipt - he used to advertise in Hemmings Motor News.
I'll keep looking.

Thanks again for the leg work Mike!
Their Web Site is no longer in operation but I did send an e-mail to see if they are still in that business.

Here are some pictures of my Ranco valve. On the body of it is embossed "Type H.F.-2" and it is GM part # 3122626.
Note in image 1 you can see my handy work of the severed copper capillary tube.

Seems we have just talked about this.  I believe the company in Texas is Old Air Products, something like that, great people, very polite, about $75.00 rebuild on my 47 cad Ranco.

I think I've found a person to repair my Ranco Valve
It was the guy that Mike suggested in Superior WI
Out of the numerous contacts I made this fellow and Fusick were the only to reply.
This guy {Joe} apparently has a bunch of jigs and spare parts in his workshop for various valve configurations.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
