First, moderators please move this if deemed necessary.

Would anyone know how to track a vin number of a 66 Cadillac to see if the car still exists?.
I tried vehicle history.com.it cost me a $1,but to no avail.

Maybe someone has some other ideas????.

Thanks,
Joe

Due to all the recently enacted privacy rules & regs, such info is jealously guarded nowadays. Others may have more to say on the matter but the odds are you're SOL.

I'm assuming by ' track a vin number of a 66 Cadillac' you are referring to owner history, and not the build info which is available? Do you have any prior or latter history information such as where (what state) it was/is originally titled, etc.  Some state DMV's can provide info if it was/is registered in their state?

Let me explain why I am searching for this.

In April of '67,when I was born,my mom and dad bought a 6 month old Coupe deVille to bring me home in.At the time, the car was used primarily for special occasions and family vacations. We had owned the car up until 1980,when dad had sold it to restore his 1953 Chevy 210 Club Coupe.

The car was always on my mind, especially when our 2 kids were born.Needless to say, they both came home in our '91 Brougham,it would have been really special if they came home in the same car their father came home in 40+ years earlier.

If I do find the car, plans call for a full ground up restoration.

Just a little tidbit. There was one at the '08 GN.It was silver with a black top and black interior.Ours was silver, black top with a red interior.
