Will 1955 Eldorado Sabre wheels fit on a 1949 Cadillac without any spacers or modifications?  Curious if anybody has any experience with this...

They should fit OK, but 1957-58 ones will not fit the front. All should fit the back. Have had no actual experience , so take this with a grain of salt.

Thanks, Barry!

If anybody else has any additional perspective or experience, I'd appreciate it.

Need to confirm what wheels you have. Look at the numbers on the back of them. ALSO, notice that the wheel center (the aluminum part) has either a "blunt" face where it ends at the rim. OR a tapered face..  (near the rivets) This is the difference in these wheels. SOME of the brake drum styles will interfere with the "blunt edge" style wheel. Over the years, wheels get changed and mixed up year/model--- SO best to look at the numbers, look at the rim in the area where they are different, then decide.

Wheels are #38612 from a 55 Eldorado. So they should fit my 49 without any issues front or back?
