I have purchased the weatherstrip rubber, from Steele Rubber, for my 66 doors. The packaging, their website, my factory shop manual and my factory Body by Fisher service manual offer no instruction at all.

Has anyone replaced this weatherstrip before? All advice is appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Frank

From ones I have replaced before, it is a simple matter of pulling the rubber downwards, and out of the chrome piece.

Replacing is just the reverse.

The originals have a steel inner lining that holds everything stiff, but I have only found replacements that don't have this steel reinforcement.

If no steel reinforcement, add a little silicone adhesive to the rubber channel and slide it in.

You might want to add a few dabs of RTV silicone into the window channel before sliding
the strip up into place.  That will insure that it doesn't slip down in time.

The Steele Rubber part does have a steel spine.

Easy peasy...5 minutes tops. Thanks Bruce, and everyone!
