Hi,
want to ask is there a possibility to check capillary tubes for heater control valve? The engine compartment was burned and all rubbers are gone in heater control valve. Now I want to check capillary tubes, are they working or not of the heat. Visually they look perfect.
Thank you

Marius,

You could use a hair dryer or a heat gun set at low range for the test. Make sure the mechanical piece can move freely which opens and closes the thermostatic valve.

Once you apply heat to the capillary tube you should notice the plenum move slightly opening and closing the valve during the process.

Good luck.

How far and how fast it should  move when I will start to heat it.And what is inside these tubes?
Thank you again  :)

Marius,

It should be just about < 1cm not much. How fast it all depends on the temp, just don’t get it to hot.  :D

I’m not sure on the contents it maybe an inert gas.

If you plan to rebuild yours send me a PM and I’ll forward a doc I made when I did mine. Do to the size restriction I can’t attach here as it is a fairly large file.

Marius, I was sure you will find here a better explanation as I could supply.
