Good Morning,

I recently had the car stereo (Delco) radio repaired in my '76 Cadillac.  It works fine now...problem is..no sound out of the rear speakers (none before repair either :o).  And the two, original 3.5 in speakers in the dash are working, but the passenger side vibrates and moans like crazy.  God forbid, the treble is turned down and bass turned up. :-\

My question would be...anyone know why the rear are not working?  I already pulled the connections and tried that.  Nothing.
And the other would be does anyone have a recommendation for replacing the front?  Sources besides Ebay?

Thanks and have a great day.

I checked that site out...
I was just wondering if there were newer speakers with the same Ohm ratings as well.
I'll give them a call.
Thanks

Any 8-10 ohm speaker that physically fits will work.  Many modern speakers are only 4 ohm and they will harm your radio.

8 ohm speakers in all sizes should be commonly available.

If you have free time, go to the junkyard and grab a pair of 6x9s out of like a 2003 malibu. I went to get my radio checked out to see if it needed a rebuild. He hooked a cheap speaker up to the leads in the back and it played. As it turned out earlier that week a customer had a sound system installed in his Malibu and they had a set of 6x9's from it. I bought them for $50 installed and I used them in my car for years, they actually sound pretty good too. Later I kept the factory radio and used line out converters, an equalizer, a 400 watt amp and at the time Audiobahn speakers were great so I used a set of them. The car sounded great.

Trouble is the car radio is the original.  I just had it restored.  Newer speakers generally draw the wrong Ohms and will burn out the radio. 6x9's can still be found for this unit, so I am in the process of waiting for the correct ones.

I used the factory 2003 Chevy Malibu speakers with the factory 75 Caddy radio for almost 2 years daily with no problem. And theyre cheap, I think they were 10 or 8 ohm I can go out to the garage and check.
