This from the Calss 25 Authenticity Manual:

"The steering linkage consists of a pitman arm and an idler arm which turn a drag link.  Attached to it are two tie rods and two tie rod ends.  The steering gear box is an iron casting.  All of these parts are semi-gloss black, except for the adjuster tubes of the tie rod ends, which are unpainted steel."

Can anyone confirm that the steering box is painted black instead of various colors of metal finishing?

Thanks,

I'm almost positive both my '76 Sedan DeVille and Coupe DeVille have black steering boxes.  However, it's pitch black here at the moment so I can't go quickly check them.  I'll take a look tomorrow in the sunlight.
