Can anybody with a coupe/conv of these years give me a measurement preferably at the belt line trim of the full width of the door please. The  41 coupe would suffice as well for interest. Not from 75 or 90 series thanks. Q

Quentin, what specific year are you looking for?  39 has a different body than 1940 and 41, are the doors the same?   I have a 38 coupe if that helps and I could probably get you the dimensions of a 1940.

I am in the process of deciding how to "customise" a 39 Sixty Special. I know that is a dirty word around here but I keep looking at pics of the two door 38 coupe that was built for Sloane. Without reservation, Harley Earl was the greatest customiser of the 20th Century.
Personally I think the Sloane factory "custom" looks too short in the door and too high in the roof. I do know that Kettering got a 40 Sixty Special that was factory "chopped" 4 inches. I think that keeping a rear quarter window will be more in keeping with this body style.
' I am trying to retain the unique Sixty Special side window treatment and this determines how long the door can be.
If I can get a full width of a coupe door it just gives me a point as to where the balance lies.
I got sent pics from a friend in Europe of this 39 Sixty Special but no further details as to who or where . Anyone know any more? Look at how the cowl has been extended. This is the only pic I have.  Q
