All, anyone know what the heaviest Cadillac or LaSalle ever made was (stock from the factory)? I need the info for my June President's message. Thanks!

Does this include the Presidential Limousines?

No, from the factory that anyone could buy. I think the current limousine just looks like a Cadillac, but is a truck underneath.

The Limo did come from the factory.  The CC was shipped as a rolling chassis, with a front clip only. The coach maker built the car.

Factory Cadillac limo is ok. The current Presidential limo isn't really a Cadillac, just looks like one.

Hello Lars

Sounds like you are creating an interesting article.  I wish it was a LaSalle, we need the ink.

My guess would be one of the V-16's or a 75 Series vehicle.
All good men own a Cadillac but great gentlemen drive a LaSalle. That is the consequence of success.

russ austin

Just curious. Do you (the general populace) consider the CC a Cadillac?

If I had to guess, I would guess the Fleetwood 75 of about 1975 or 1976 were the heaviest production models. They were the last ones before the 1977 downsize and had the federal bumpers and door rails.

Somebody here can probably confirm their weight. Most of the older cars don't weigh as much as they appear to weigh.

At 5,889 lbs, I would also say 75-76 Series 75 Limousine was the heaviest production Cadillac model ever made.

I don't believe any regular production Sixteens topped that figure.

Figures from Wiki (for what it may be worth).

Appears they also give the honor to Cadillac Limousine of the mid '70s.

I have no idea what unit of weight "mm" refers to:

Current production car - 6,091 mm (239.8 in) - Rolls-Royce Phantom EWB

Production car - 6,405 mm (252.2 in) - 1973-76 (for the 1974-76 model years) Cadillac Series 75

Production convertible - 6,045â€"6,096 mm (238.0â€"240.0 in) (29 produced) - 1933-37 (for the 1934-37 model years) Cadillac V-16

Production coupe - 6,045â€"6,096 mm (238.0â€"240.0 in) (20 produced) - 1933-37 (for the 1934-37 model years) Cadillac V-16

Production station wagon - 5,888 mm (231.8 in) 1974-76 (for the 1975-76 model years) Buick Estate

Limited production convertible - 6,401 mm (252.0 in) - 1932 Bugatti Royale Weinberger

Limited production coupe - 6,401 mm (252.0 in) - 1931 Bugatti Royale Kellner

Pickup Truck - 6,680 mm (263.0 in) - Ford F-250/F-350 crew cab long bed

SUV - 5,758 mm (226.7 in) - Ford Excursion

Van - 7,361 mm (289.8 in) Freightliner/Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

Eric, the MM is the length of the car in Millimeters.

Example =  6405 mm  =   252.2 inches

The heaviest listing I see is a 1936 5725,LB TWIN CAB.7 passanger weighing in at  6390 lbs.
Many many cars in the 5500 hundred range. Big 74-75 limos at about 5900 or so.Art

My vote goes for this model. From the database, Cadillac built 9 style 5825's from 1934 to 1937 (including the Marlene Dietrich V-16) and at 6390 lbs, was heavier than Town Broughams. You would think that on the longest wheelbase (154") and with a first generation V-16 engine, this Cadillac would be in running for "heaviest Cadillac ever produced".  Ross.

What weight are you talking about?  Rolling off the assembly line, or full of fuel, passengers, etc?  The 2014 Escalade ESV 4X4 has a 6040 lb curb weight.

Curb weight, not GVWR which is the maximum weight capacity (including load). Curb weight is the unladen weight of the vehicle which does not include fuel or passengers.

I too was thinking the 76 Limo would have been up there.   I know a guy that has a bunch of Packards and those 30's ones sure look like they weigh a lot so I would think that some of the Cadillac's from the same era could also be very heavy.  I was in his shop one time where he just had a bare frame on stands and I could not budge it.   Some of the 50's cars look like they should be heavy but surprisingly they don't seem to be.
