I did once brad many many years ago, 1983 I think it was. Nothing wrong with them but I found with all the pre made ones they never give you enough material. Tops are attached under considerable tension if you want them to look right and from tight as a drum with these kits you only get an extra 1/2" or so to pull on, no good for my aging fingers to grab hold of.
I decided back then that you really don't get much for your money when you study these tops, there nothing to them!  about 3 yards of material and some wire-on lacing.    I have since made about three dozen for myself and others thus giving myself plenty of extra material to pull and tug at.  Surprising how many friends you get when they know you can do this ;D

A few years ago, already, I jhad a new Styay-fast top put on my convertible coupe, after it had been  painted it set me back two grand, but it looks so good, I'm mot fretting about the chromium moldongs not being there.

The shop gets convertible tops from Mead Distributing, in Detroit. That's where all of the local shops (and possibly Hirsch) get heir top kits from.

There's a good shot of my '41 Cad. Convertible with the new top, but it's nowhere to be found. I offer a pix of my '41 Chevy convertible, just out of the trim shop. The top is identical to the one on the Cadillac.

NOW, hedre's the picture I was looking for, and finally found. This waas at the trim shop whnere the top was put on.
