Need help.Oil leak between oil filter cover and screw?

Hi,need some help.Trying to start my 56 Deville and oil is leaking on oil filter cover through the cover screw.Do I need any gasket or ring between cover and screw?

There is a sealing gasket/ring under the top cover bolt.

Re-phrase - There should be a sealing gasket that comes with the filter assembly - if it's missing, you will have oil leakage.

Sorry, it is rubber (neoprene) and is integral to the top of the oil filter cartridge.  Maybe you installed the filter upside down?  If so, it would have been tight sliding down the center tube.  When you install the cartridge it slides down the center tube easily until the rubber gasket makes contact then sort of snaps in place when fully seated.  Hope this helps.
