Thoughts on bringing car cover to the GN
« on: June 28, 2014, 02:58:46 PM »
I'm not sure I like the idea of having my car in the hot sun for the week. I've got a car cover and I'm wondering if there's any benefit to using it at the GN. Would there be any ill effects on the original paint of not using it that week?

It takes up a lot of space in the trunk and I could use the luggage space.

Dan - bring the cover . Roll it up , put it on the back seat and use your trunk for luggage . You might not use it during the day because I hope that you will want to share the car with the rest of us . But it would prove useful at night as protection from condensation and curious non CLC hotel guests . Yes , I know there will be security ; but security can't be everywhare . I'm going to bring a large trash bag to put my cover in for the ride home in case it gets wet during the meet . See you there ! ... Paul Tesone CLC # 6876

Paul. Absolutely I want to share the car. No worries. Worst case is I put it in a closet in our room.

Didn't really think of the whole nighttime aspect. My car is usually in bed by 8:30 at home. Lol

Dan:
If rains, you will need a plastic type of car cover like a tarp.
The breathable ones in the above situation will soak your car paint and the sun rays will damage it if you don't remove it immediately.

Ohhh. That kinda scares me. Sounds like it would be better to be rained on.

I have a breathable indoor/outdoor cover. A tarp over that cover perhaps. Sounds like a lot of work and still risking more damage than leaving it in the rain.
