We are leaving for the GN tomorrow AM.  We are supposed to get thunderstorms tonight into tomorrow.  They are also calling for thunderstorms on Sunday which is the day we will be driving home.

I registered my 60 Convertible for the meet, but the 70 has working air.  I may take that one because the thought of driving the 60 in the rain on a hot day with the windows rolled up for 5 hours is not too appealing.

I don't think I will be able to switch cars as far as judging goes, but if it's going to rain it will be a miserable ride in a hot car with the windows up.

I hope you can get them to make the switch Brian.

I hear your '70 is a beauty.

Have you driven the 60 in the rain before?

I think it's still pretty comfortable with the floor vents open and the wing's cracked.

If you can keep moving and don't anticipate hours of gridlock traffic I think you will be good.

Brian,

I’ve been watching the weather for central Jersey and Lake George.  FWIW, The Weather Channel forecast for the travel days is as follows: Wednesday partly cloudy with 20% chance of rain in both locations; Sunday is isolated thunder storms with 30% chance of rain in both locations. Based on the weather map motions it looks like the rain along the route is Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning.

NOTE: I claim no authorship or responsiblity for the above information and shall be held harmless for any and all variance from same.…….Blame The Weather Channel.

Safe travels,

It looks like the 60 is taking the trip based on current predictions.

Hopefully we won't be stuck in traffic in a downpour.

Just to be safe, I just bought new wiper blades so that should eliminate the rain from happening.

I encountered sporadic showers along Seneca Lake, but it is now (7:13PM Tuesday) clearing, with blue sky to the west. Looks like the worst May be over-I hope so. See you all tomorrow.

Good and safe trip Brian and everyone!  Noah and I are a day behind schedule but I will be up by Friday and maybe Thursday in our 59 with my Son there by Saturday dawn. My concern is driving in the rain too but due to the lack of a sealed winshield moulding on the outside and new headliner on the inside.  Sooooo if you see me on the road or pulling up with duct tape around the front roof line dont snap any pictures until the rain stops  ;D ;D ;D

Put the Duct Tape on before driving as it will also keep out the unwanted wind.

I had to use Duct Tape on my '72 Eldo in 2008 as the water would leak through, and drop onto the lap.

It wasn't until we got the car home when I found that the rain was actually coming in, under the chrome strip, over the top of the glass, and down between the glass and the glue that was supposed to be holding the glass in place.

Brian,
Your 60 looks spectacular!
Hope the weather is kind to all of you. Wish I wasn't a few thousand miles away.
Take a bunch of pictures.

It was a great ride, partly sunny mostly cloudy day, not too hot.
We are here enjoying the cars and people.
