Is there a supplier of the fine mesh (that always gets torn) that is on the inner fenders? I know that 46/47s also used the same mesh. I've got a similar style. But it is slightly different heavier mesh and would mean having to replace the other side so they match.

Q,
I heard that a little factory in Perth was gonna make them. And... waffle pattern sheet  metal  also.
Sorry, I couldn't resist. LOL.

Waffle is made Bob. Shines so bright my eyes hurt.  Got yards and yards and yards of it. Gonna line my caravan with waffle. . . And the splash back on the workshop urinal.. . Give it to my kids to cut up for school projects.....but that bloody mesh...what do I do?

Quentin,

That looks like wire mesh I've seen on aircraft.  I can't at all tell what the hole size is in this, but perhaps it's closer:

It's stainless, so should last a while.  You might want to call Aircraft Spruce and see if they can put a tape measure to it.

Quentin,
That material is typically called "hardware cloth", and is available industrially in various mesh(s) (wire spacing). Try this site to start. http://www.bwire.com/index.html  or this one http://www.wireclothman.com/shop.php?cPath=55
