Can anyone identify the application for these two tri-volume horns.  I think the stubby is a tri-volume for a 1976.  It is stamped 12V "A"  number is hard to read either 131038, or 139039.  The 8 inch bell horn reads 12v 953.  Anyone know what they are for?

Tony,
I will tell you what little I know about horns.  I think the longer one would be for an earlier car than '76.  I have a 68 coupe with a similiar horn.  I had a 73 Eldo that did not have that horn.   The other one would be part of the later "trumpet horn" option.  I know in the 80s there were 4 horns and they were marked for the note they hit.  They were D, C, A, and F.  The standard horn only had two horns but I don't remember the notes they hit.

Thanks Greg.  Do you know if the A note was the tri volume horn or were there many different tri volume horns?

The A note would be one of 4 horns if the trumpet option was ordered.  I don't know what you mean by tri volume as they hit one note at one volume.

I never much thought about it, but that's what we called the cars with extra horn in the car business.  Chevrolet even offered the extra horn at one time, either in the late 60's or the early 70's.
