I started a restoration on my 1970 Caddy, that I have owned for 40 years. After dismantling, body work nearing completion, I ordered and installed a new wiring harness. I fired up the car to make sure I had everything connected and it ran for a few minutes and then stopped. Figured it needed gas but that was not the case. Kept trying to restart, nothing. Benched tested the starter, solenoid, all good. Put back on the car, nothing, not evening turning over, just a click. I think my engine is seized.

Any suggestions? If not, I will need to pull out nd take to someone to rebuild. Anyone have any contacts in Naples-Ft. Myers area?

Please advise. Thanks in advance, Dean.

Probably electrical.  If it seized then when you engage the starter it would get very hot, groan, the inside lights would dim , battery would get warm, etc.  Pull the plugs and try to spin the engine by just turning the fan.  It should spin with the plugs out.  Then try to spin it backwards in case the starter is still engaged, that should free it.
Then, look at the wiring harness in the manual and just jump the starter.  If you need a copy of the schematic, let me know.

Thanks Jeff, I will give it a try this weekend.

Your engine would've made lots of terrible noises prior to seizing anyway. You'd know if it was coming down to that.
