I am trying to sort out the vacuum routing on my flathed engine. The car has a Stromberg aav-26 carb and there is a vacuum poport between the 2 front adjusting screws. This is connected to distributor advance and at idle has about 15 in. of vacuum. On the intake there is one fitting in front on the carb and is connected to the vacuum side [front/left] side. this has over 21 in. of vacuum. The wipers are fed from a line on the rear side of fuel pump.
1. Is everything connected correctly?
2. Like on most cars the distributor vacuum advance is connected to manifold vacuum. I don' think the lower reading carb port is correct.
3 what if I blocked off the carb port and used a "t" to connect both the wipers and the distributor to the higher reading manifold port.
Thanks, Steve

Everything's connected correctly, don't change it. Nothing will be gained by increasing the vacuum to the distributor as it doesn't waste the vacuum that it gets, that is to say the diaphragm in the distributor does not spill the vacuum like the wipers do on every stroke.
