1967 Grill Emblem

What color is the Cadillac emblem on the grill supposed to be. Ours looks like tarnished bronze and it's not pitted.
We are having some plating and polishing done so might as well do it also.

Do you mean the Cadillac script? It should be silvery - chrome-like in appearance on the face. The yellowing is normal after 47 years. It is probably pot metal, and plating might bring up other issues.

Take some 00 or 0000 steel wool to the emblem, and it will shine again. The 00 or 0000 steel wool will not scratch the emblem, and will make it look nice.
