I am looking to install a couple missing fender script emblems... They have pins, but I'm not sure how they install. Do they just fit the pins into the holes and use adhesive or are there clips or something that hold the pins from behind?

As always I appreciate your knowledge and help.

They are attached with clips at the rear. I just don't know if such clips are still available as the automotive industry from today (and yesterday) does not use them anymore.

They are still available if you find a good auto parts store.  It's a small spring steel type
that pushes onto that pin.  The hole in the clip and the spring action holds it
tightly against the fender.  Take a trim piece with you so you get the correct size.

Also, be careful pressing them on since those pins break easily.

They sure do break easily!  Anodized aluminum is very fragile.   They weren't designed to be taken off and on.

If yiu can't get a spring clip, you could likely get away with using a speed nut.

Unless the pins on a '57 are thicker  than those for the trunk letters on my '60, you may have a hard time finding clips that are small enough.  I can't seem to find anything smaller than 1/16" which is too big.

Try these folks for fasterners! http://www.rjlautofasteners.com/ for a starter anyway.  Good luck.

Rather than permanently mount them with the clips and risk damaging the pins, consider a silicone caulking material.   Once they're clipped on, getting them off is a chore.
