Please take a look at this 3 X 2 intake that I want to put on my 1960 Eldorado.

I don't want to put it on then take it off because of something I should have seen or done.

Like that choke tube vent underneath the intake.

The tube had that spiral thing in it and the tube is clear thru to vent up to the middle 2 barrel.

I think the casting # if off a 1959 Cadillac.......Is that going to be a problem on the 1960?

Whatever ideas anybody has I would appreciate it.

The flange at one of the bolt hold downs but I'm hoping that won't effect performance.

Do you have the correct distributor, as I remember the 3x2 cars had a different (smaller?) distributor.  Different camshaft too but that won't affect the fitment of the manifold or carbs.

The broken divider won't have any bearing on the performance of the manifold, just looks.

And, I can't see any problem with omitting the spiral insert, unless you want the Auto Choke to work as Cadillac intended it to.

I think the spiral was there to slow down the hot air flow so it could gain heat faster to "signal" the choke.

You will have to check if the choke tube inside the manifold is not broken. The spiral inside that tube is there to slow down the flow of air, so it has a chance to get warm.

Thanks guys for taking the time to look.

The number on the motor matches the frame so I would hope the cam is ok.

The distributor had the tri-power distributor cap on it so I think it's the right distributor.

I took an air hose and blew out the choke tube, air only came out the other end, should be ok.

I have alot of "I thinks" & "I hopes"........ I'm just going to dive in, It should go ok.

Thanks again,

Mike
