Hi everyone. New 31 caddy owner. What is the best way to adjust the twin carbs on my engine? The service bulletins show syncing the carbs with a special tool that I certainly don't have. How is everyone else doing it? Thanks for the help. Arlen Evans

Hi Arlen,

The shop manual also describes an alternate method of adjusting the carburetors in a synchronized manner.

You can get a modern-day substitute for the mercury tube tool that the factory recommended for the job when the car was new.  They are generally marketed to the motorcycle crowd, and don't use mercury.

Hope that helps,

Also check out the usa fora for Englsih classic cars. They used twin carbs on a LOT of cars up util the seventies. For example try mgexperince.com.
Good luck.

See ebay item 391001398740. It is a newly listed vintage synchronizing tool. Looks excellent.
