I have seen on here some people got their cars original selling dealer and option codes for their cars. I was just wondering how it was done.Thank you.

Gary,

The information at this link will tell you how to obtain that information:

http://www.cadillaclasalleclub.org/vehicle-authentication/

You can also get general documentation for 1940 at this link:

https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits/Cadillac/1940_LaSalle_VVI.pdf

While the link specifically references LaSalle, Cadillac information is included, too.

HTH,
Jeff

Hello Gary

I'm glad you are inquisitive about your car.  In addition to the assistance you have received from Jeff, I would suggest that you acquire a CLC Authenticity Manual.  Just go the Technical Resources link here.  They are great guides for restoration and learning about any automobile from the Standard of the World.
All good men own a Cadillac but great gentlemen drive a LaSalle. That is the consequence of success.
