add oil temperature gauge to 41 60 special

anyone know where to attach an oil temp. gague to a 41 60 special ? thanks john

Are you asking where on the engine or where in the car?  Or both?    Are you going with electric senders or mechanical?

You could put a T adapter in the outlet for the external lifter line and put the sender in there. It would be very hard to see in that location. It comes right off the front end of the main galley so you should get accurate readings.

hmmmmm... what are acceptable limits on oil temp....what does this reading mean?

Seems to me that the oil should not be much hotter than the water temp. I am not 100% certain if that is logical but I can't understand why it should or could be significantly hotter.
