There is a 1955 Coupe deVille on eBay right now. Buy it now of $21,500. Looks original except they added later fender script to the car. It has the 2 x 4 Eldorado carburetor set up. Is there any way to tell from the data plate that it came that way from the factory.

Code 43 is a series 62 coupe trim number, not a Coupe deville. You'd have to get the invoice to prove the engine as the data tag only shows fisher body codes

Just took a moment to look at the listing, definitely a Series 62 interior. Coupe deVille emblems are incorrect add ons. I'm not sure how light code 12 Alabaster gray is supposed to be , looks almost white in the pictures.....

Alabaster Gray in 1955 is, as you describe, "almost white." Perhaps another descriptive term might be eggshell?

It occurred to me that the listing stated the engine (serial ) number matched the frame stamping. Would the engine unit number stamped on the back of the block confirm the Eldo engine?

I looked at that car for you. That is NOT a Coupe DeVille. It is the low line Series 62 Coupe. The codes show it was originally in code 24 Dresden Blue Metallic with a code 12 Alabaster gray roof, and code 43 light blue diamond pattern nylon inserts seat cushions and dark blue wool Gabardine bolsters and trim. Acccessories it has are E-Z Eye Glass, Heater, Radio and Fog lamps. No Power windows no power seat or Autronic Eye. The car is not presently the original color, it looks like it is Ruskin or Azure blue now? also the seat inserts don't look correct, However in any case I can only speak for Myself. I feel that $21,000.00 is Coupe DeVille money not Series 62 Coupe money with no power windows, wrong paint colors, wrong wheel covers and wrong badging. When I see those things personally I wonder how much else incorrectly has been done to the Car. I LOVE 1955 Cadillac's also. I have owned 2 of them. One Mans Opinion

I have seen this car listed a couple times before this listing.

In December 2014 it was listed for $19,500 and then two weeks later raised to $20,500.

Sometime in 2013- early 2014 it was for sale by same shop for $19,100

I was just curious about Eldorado dual 4's on what looked to me to be a series 62. I'm thinking it's an add on. I was just curious as I have enough projects already. I see claims of "one of one"  and think it really is meaningless.
