Repairing 1957 Cadillac Convertible rear window frame

Hello ,
   My Passenger side rear window frame on my Convertible has a few worn spots on the  outside chrome , this has happened over a period of several years . It must of been rubbing on a screw or something and has worn a groove about .030 deep  by 3/8 of an inch wide . I do have the window frame  out of the car .  This window is part of an assembly that has a swivel that is pinned in position at the factory and also a channel for the window regulator  that is riveted to the frame . it also has a channel  revited to the frame  that holds the window weather stripping .  In order the repair and re plate this window channel  I believe the frame has to be totally disassembled . I am reluctant to disassemble the frame in fear that it can not be repaired . Is there any one out there that can recommend someone that has experience  with these frames ? Also does any one know what kind of material these frames are made out of .   They are almost impossible to find . Maybe I should leave it alone but I would really like to get this repaired and re chrome plated .

We had all our window frames redone by Paul's Chrome in Evans City, PA. I'd reccommended giving them a call.

 Paul's Chrome also did my frames ; but I did send them disassembled . They have made repairs for me prior to chroming on a number of different pieces ,both steel and pot metal. Always a great job.......... Paul Tesone CLC #6876

  I called Pauls and he is very knowledgeable about these window frames , He needs 6 to eight weeks . I think I will give him a try .
