When redoing/updating interior have you opted for a new replacement firewall pad like the original, or did you go with an aftermarket heat/sound deadening underlayment (FatMat, Dynamat, ect) and run it right up the inside firewall?

For the entire floor, I am torn with using any of the the aftermarket options until I'm dead certain to be done with the restoration given the work it appears to take to remove after installation.

Have you used any other aftermarket under the rug options that you are happy with and not as hard to remove?
