Could someone please verify that GM part # 363 1813 ( Group # 8.4490 ) is the correct # for a 1952-1955 Cadillac heat riser ( except for engines with dual quads ) . The seller  claims it is , but my Master Parts Book gives a different # for this part . He's telling me that it's not unusual for GM to change #'s . ?????  Thanks , Paul Tesone CLC #6876

John Washburn CLC 1067 Sadly deceased.

Paul,

The history of your part as told by the Master Parts List (MPL):

1953 MPL lists the 52 and 53 part number as  350 9526

1954 MPL lists 52 and 53 part number as 350 9526 but it states when exhausted use part number 350 9741. The 54 part number, is as you guessed, 350 9741

1955 MPL lists 52 thru 55 as part number 350 9741

Now the exciting part.

1961 MPL lists 52 thru 55 part number as 350 9741 but it states when exhausted use 363 1813.

So looks like the vendor made up the part that would fit all.
