I'm looking into purchasing a '74 Eldorado and from the looks of it, it's probably going to need a whole rear bumper assembly.  Question I have is which years will interchange with the 74 Eldo?  I've seen some things that point to 74-76, others 73-74 so since I've rarely dealt with '70s Cadillacs, I pose the question to more experienced members.  I'm not concerned with 100% correct looks, just which ones will bolt on and fit correctly if I can't track down a reasonable 74 bumper.

The 74 rear bumper is extremely similar if not identical to the 75 and 76 Cadillac Eldorados.  Every year has minor differences, but sometimes they will interchange.  The 71, 72, and 73 Cadillac Eldorado rear bumpers are all completely different and not even close to a 74 thru 76.  1974 was the first year of the 5 mph rear bumper.

If concerned about super authentic looks, best to shop more for a 74, although it is the rarest year due to lower production as a result of oil embargo at the time - I know difficult to find.  Just about any used rear bumper of this era is going to need re-chroming to look good.

I think I have a nice rear center from a 78.
Ill ask Joe Caristo if they are the same.
I think they are.
