Getting down to the details as I put this car back together.  My car came to me with a 'vintage' Niehoff coil instead of its original Delco.  I have so far failed to find an example of the correct Delco 1115128 coil.  From a judging standpoint, is it better to refinish the Niehoff and stay with it, or buy one of the nice repro coils from KM Lifestyle?  I have judged this class before and don't recall anyone on the judging team getting too worked up about what coil was on a car, but if there ends up being stiff competition in Milwaukee, it's easier to ask the question now.  Of course if someone can point me to a nice Delco 1115128, that would be even better.

Thanks for your help!

Paul, I have one that requires the armored cable to attach correctly. $50.00. I've had it for years on the shelf waiting to put in the armored cable. It was new, not used. Barry And yes, you should have the correct one on your high point car for judging. You should not be able to see the connecting wire from the dash under the hood. Just a round cap on top of the coil.

Thanks Barry & Steve for the quick replies and good advice.  I sure hope it ends up being a high points car!

Barry, sounds like yours is the one to go with, so count me in.  I think I understand about the armored cable, as the Niehoff had that setup as well.  I'll send a direct email so we can work out the payment details.

Barry advised that his coil is NORS, so Steve - please take a look in your items to see if yours is Delco.  If anyone else has a Delco 1115128 coil available, please chime in as well.

Thanks,
Paul

Sorry Paul, I was sure I had one, even checked my parts car and thats already been changed to a modern coil. I do have a decent armored cable with a new wire fitted though.
