Anyone know what type material is used for the molding on the lower, outer edge of the '37 side mount covers? It looks like the molding is riveted as there are a series of holes that run along that edge. Thanks,   Harry

Harry, I believe I used Steele Side mount cover pad, P/N 70-0077-37.  I think I used pop rivets to hold them on (you can't see them with the sidemount covers in place).  However, the pop rivets puckered the rubber - they were too tight.  I think the originals were T-head brass split rivets, but can't find them anymore.  Closest match would be Gem Office Products Round-Head S Fasteners, 1.25", Size 5, Brass, Box Of 100, Office Depot P/N 498134.  I'd also use the brass backing washer P/N 498107.  Cut off any extra length on the fastener legs.  I plan to use these in the future.

These split brass rivets are called Bifrucated rivets and are still available. The originals were actually peened hollow rivets but split one will do fine.   Pop rivets do put a massive pressure on the rubber.
I bought a sheet of 1/8th reinforced rubber cut into strips for my covers Harry
