Hi all,
I was on this site several years ago when I bought a 55 Cad Series 62. you guys helped me through a bit of work needed on the car with info and suppliers. Thanks again! I have had many trouble free miles since then and still love the car. Recently I have been looking for a replacement car since I sold my 60 Mercury last fall and have found a 37 LaSalle on Craigslist in Illinois. Never gave LaSalle much though until looking at the 37 today. The coupe was in need of a large amount of work as there was quite a bit of rust and filler. The engine smoked badly and the car was missing most of the interior, but overall struck me as a beautifully proportioned automobile. My question is does this car share the same drivetrain as the Cadillac, and are body parts hard to came by? This car was missing the jump seats and the panel that separates the trunk from the interior. Are those items tough to get? I am wondering if I would be better off finding a complete LaSalle and paying the extra green. Thanks!

The La Salle shares the chassis with the 60 series Cadillac and the body from the screen back including the interior. Parts are relatively easy to find but as its been stated many times on this forum you should buy the very best you can afford because the car will probably not return your investment if it needs a large amount of work.
There have been several for sale recently on here and ebay. . See this link for a 38.

I don't know how much you will have to pay for this car but a nice usable coupe should come for around $20K with excellent examples upwards of $30K.      A complete basket case can't be rebuilt for this money unless its for free and you can do all the work yourself.
