My 1939 60S axle tubes have cracks in them. Anyone else have this problem? Can I weld them? What is the best fix. Thanks

Steve Passmore

Where are the cracks? as the steel banjo can be welded easily enough, but I've never seen one cracked.

I have the axle housing, if we are talking about the same thing, that I just pulled out of my 38 60S. My parts book lists the 38-60S, 38-60 and 40-60S as the same part but does not list the 39-60S for some reason. If you need one you can have mine, just pay the shipping. I would hate to see it go to the scrap yard but that's exactly where it's going to have to go in the next few weeks. I just don't have anywhere to store it.
