These films specially provided to train salesman are really elusive. In fact not many have surfaced in the last years,
i suppose there's not many existing copies out there. I wonder if there's a CLC member interested in selling or trading
  any of them...

Great Topic. I would love to get my hands on any of the Roundtable Slidefilm and other presentation material during the 1963 & 1964 Cadillac model years I am so passionate about. The sad part is as the years go by the original analog material disintegrates further.

The Cadillac & LaSalle Club Museum & Research Center has an amazing number of these filmstrips from 1956-1965 , we also have the large record player and the DuCane reader for viewing the tapes. These are located at the research and reading room in Dexter , MI.  The public is welcome to come view them, the room is open on Thursdays and advance notice of your arrival is welcome.  Tim Pawl CLC#4383   Curator of the collection.

Chrysler also made films called"Master Technician Service Films". These are already converted to AVI format and can be downloaded for free at the Imperial site.

I have a collection of these (beginning in the late 1920s, ending in early/mid 1970s) including a number of duplicates that I would be willing to trade (Salescraft or Roundtable).

Bill Young

I have a couple 1968 Cadillac ones complete with the film strip and the record in their original boxes I would sell.

Quote from: David Smith on March 30, 2015, 12:13:48 PMI think once they get transferred to a digital format there will be greater demand.
I did it a few years ago for the 1956-58 filmstrips I had traded with Yann Saunders in the 1990s. See the following thread : http://forums.cadillaclasalleclub.org/index.php?topic=116020.0.

There I posted some download links, but I'm afraid these are all dead by now. Steve Lachowetz put two of these videos on his "1958 Cadillac" Facebook page on Aug 8-9, 2011 : https://www.facebook.com/pages/1958-Cadillac/129458377177(needs to travel dooooooown the page).

Unfamiliar with Facebook :-\ I didn't notice these 2 videos (1958 Cadillac compared with respectively Lincoln and Imperial) were readily accessible in the "video" section of Steve's page.

Very interesting Philippe, do you think you could upload the 1957 videos again to for example youtube? I think I've only seen the one with the plant tour, it would be very interesting to see the others as well!

I'm sold! , I am ready to buy a new 1957 Cadillac!

Dave Ventresca

I have one of those for the 53 Cadillac model line up. but it takes a micro fiche viewer to see it. any ideas. it's brand new still in box. Dave

Walter Youshock

I re watched them yesterday.   Too bad they're not in color.

I especially like the one regarding used cars and the expectation that engine compartments not only be cleaned but repainted as well!!!  Any wonder Authenticity is so challenging?

Sorry, the only ones I have are 1956-58.

What does it look like ? The ones I own are 35mm film rolls in metal cans, no micro fiche viewer needed. Do you own the record, too ?

Some of them originally were, but only the magenta coat remains. So I put everything in b&w.

Here is the one Walter kindly shipped to me (and I sent back to him) for digitalization purpose :

Philippe:
Thanks for showings us the Cadillac 1957.

I remember the year 1957 very well as I was in my second year of Medical School.  Brought back memories of the smartly dressed people as shown in the filmstrips . Ladies with hats and gloves in the shops, airports and social gatherings. Airplane travel was a social event.
The 1957 Cadillac reflects that era very well...elegance!

Things have changed a little since 1957. Air travel is still a social event , now you disrobe in front of perfect strangers and get frisked like a criminal and women now wear nuts bolts and pins thru their noses and eyelids rather than hats and gloves. Their are no formal gatherings in general society much and all the cars look the same , foreign. Exciting huh.

Walter Youshock

They sure have changed.  Great that these cars survive to remind us of another era.

I'd like to know what happened to all the annual dealership ornaments.   Who wouldn't want a big framed "V" and crest or desk display?  A lot of the decorations were dated.  Probably thrown out as soon as the new year model hit the floor.
