1940's ignition coil removal?

How does the coil attach/remove from the baseplate & wiring? I can't get it off.

It twists and comes off but they do get seized up.

Steve is right. Originally it was designed as a sort of anti theft mechanism. If it is as new you need to stick a shim up under the edge to push a small tab back to allow it to twist. Not usually like that after this many years. Give it a good twist, lefty loosey and pull up and it should come off.

These cars can be hot wired in about 15 seconds. The cap was meant to slow it down, I think it would take about 25 seconds.
