Redoing the interior.   What is the base material for the package tray? The area under the window,  behind the rear seat.  Ply'wd, fiberboard etc.

Jon: on my sedan I had some sort of a hard, thick cardboard (I know ... right?) as base which was covered with fabric mesh. I think I saved some samples of both, if I did I'll take some pictures.

USA Aut Parts Supply has the full unit which fits great. The fabric top though is close but not original. SMS has oem material. So I got both and covered the USA sub material with the SMS oem fabric

For my '60, I did something similar, only bought my shelf from OPGI,which might use the aame supplier. On my car, someone had mounted what appeared to be correct material on a  thin white melamine board, which looked weird and was noisy.

Jon: here you go, I found the pieces I saved from the paper base that was underneath the fabric mesh, it's a thin but hard pressed paper that was glued to the metal and the fabric (see my previous picture) was covering it. I took a picture of both sides for you ... hope this helps.
