1937 [346] crankcase system

During some recent work on my car I found that the carburetor and intake manifold had a  coating of oil that must have come from the crankcase vent system. I think that I am going to T the 2 hoses from under the intake manifold and make a up a road draft pipe set-up.
Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas. Thanks, Steve

No. not in 1937.

The correct road draft system on later models used very wide 2 1/2" by 3/4" ducting from the lifter covers which then exited through a casting in the bell housing. On your model its very thin pipes relying on the manifold draw to pull fumes.  You may find the system not work so well without that draw through the thin tubes. I would suggest you used the ducting and the lifter covers from a later model and modify the rear of the ducting somehow to vent out the rear as your bell housing does not have the casting.  If you do this remember you will have oily air escaping close to your clutch and you may find your trailing  fumes behind you if as I suspect you have a piston ring issue.
